The following video interview contains mild spoilers about the goons in Gunpowder Milkshake if you haven’t seen the film yet.
We interviewed David Burnell IV for you (before we had seen the film): He plays the goon Shocker in this exciting new action-thriller. Shocker is part of the quintessential “goon squad” led by Ivan Kaye’s character Yankee. The protagonist Sam gives all three of them the loving nickname “boneheads”.
Our interview mini-series “The Goon power of Gunpowder” aims at exploring the film from a different perspective: The senior goons of The Firm who are the cult comic element of the film as they are sent after Karen Gillan’s Sam to retrieve a suitcase of money from her, at best without doing her any harm.
In this interview, David shares his experience working with Ivan on Gunpowder Milkshake, fun insights behind the scenes and his character’s background story, along with a bit of his own adventurous life story as a former US marine.

Pt. 2 will feature Ivan’s stunt double Joseph Toedtling with insights into the most important element of an action-thriller: the action (i.e. the fight scenes).
