Has been described as the “most Viking-like” actor of Vikings cast by Clive Standen in an interview in 2015.

Played first famous Viking warrior Ivar the Boneless in Hammer of the Gods and then Saxon King Aelle of Northumbria in Vikings who allegedly was executed by the same Ivar the Boneless via the infamous blood eagle torture for killing the latter’s father Ragnar Lothbrok in a pit of snakes.

Has stated in an interview that his Russian ancestors claimed to be descended from the Vikings.

Got his nose broken in his youth when he was beaten up at school.

Has worked together in films with Johnny Depp and with the latter’s daughter Lily-Rose Depp.
